The Fernando Valley Futurity Race, organized by the Fernando Valley Racing Pigeon Club (FVC), has a significant history in the world of pigeon racing. The FVC, established in 1938 in Sun Valley, California, has been a prominent figure in the sport for over 75 years. The club’s commitment to preserving its history and the broader heritage of pigeon racing is evident through the establishment of the Fernando Valley Club Museum in 2015, which houses a significant collection of club and pigeon memorabilia. The Snowbird Classic, created in 1985, has been a cornerstone of the FVC’s activities and has enjoyed immense success for many years, placing the FVC at the forefront of pigeon racing across the United States. The Snowbird Classic is divided into two divisions: the Futurity for birds less than one year old, and the Classic for more veteran birds. This iconic race has attracted participants and enthusiasts from far and wide, making it one of the most prestigious events in the United States.
