2026 FVCF Rules

Warning: Please register all Out-Of-Area birds as early as possible. Do NOT attempt to settle these birds to avoid rejection.

Entry Fees

• $125 per Bird or $600 for 5 Birds
• Payment MUST accompany birds
• Every 5 birds or every 5 FVCF bands purchased = 1 Replacement Bird
• FVCF Handlers receive one extra FVCF replacement band per 5 purchased
• Out-of-Area Handlers must send the replacement bird
• Replacement birds/bands If all five original birds are still present and not lost, and a replacement bird is also present, the replacement bird must be activated for $125. Any replacement birds or bands arriving after the first race must also be activated for $125

General Rules

• Handlers are required to use Benzing Live
• MUST be a 2026 AU or GVC Member in good standing
• Minimum entry: 5 birds (Handlers)
• Event is OPEN to all Greater Valley Combine members
• Final shipping will take place at FVC
• Out-of-Area breeders may use their own bands and choose handlers
• FVC & GVC handlers must use official FVCF Bands
• Handlers may handle up to ________ birds per location
• Handlers may fly their own birds
• Out-of-Area birds must ship directly to the Race Committee — NO EXCEPTIONS
• Official entry form must be signed and shipped with birds
• Checks payable to Fernando Valley Club
• Accepting birds: Feb 15, 2025 – June 30, 2025

Race Structure

• Final race: 400 miles (Northern California)
• Only Futurity Birds are shipped
• Optional second 400-mile race for an additional fee
• Unfilled prizes after knock-off split among clocked birds
• Race open until prizes filled or up to 2 days
• Knock-Off Time: Day 2 at 3:00 PM

Awards & Payouts

• 50% Breeder / 50% Handler split
• Birds remain property of breeder unless agreed otherwise
• Breeder pays all shipping costs
• Unclaimed birds after 7 days become handler property
• Top 3 birds must be present at Knock-Off
• Trophy to Handler, Plaque to Breeder of overall winner
• Payouts issued within 14 days of official race close
• 15% retained by FVC Committee for expenses

Verification, Compliance & Banding

• Committee may require winning birds to be released at handler’s loft
• All birds subject to inspection
• Altered or suspicious bands = disqualification
• Bands must be AU-sanctioned or approved personal bands
• Committee may approve or refuse any participant
• Rules may be adjusted due to unforeseen circumstances
• FVCF WILL follow FVC and AU Rules — NO EXCEPTIONS

Acknowledgment and Agreement

By sending birds, all handlers and out-of-area breeders acknowledge, accept, and agree to comply with all rules of the 2026 FVC Futurity Race.
